I accidentally deleted my email address and have to retrieve contacts and other information does anyone know?

I don't think you can accidentally delete an email account or address. If you had actually canceled your account, and that would have to be done intentionally, then you couldn't retrieve your contact information. I wish I knew what makes you think something was "deleted". If you just deleted the icon off of your desktop, that doesn't delete your account. Go to the main Yahoo page (http://www.yahoo.com) and click on "Mail". That'll bring you to the log on page, or will open your email if you're already logged on.

Do you mean you need to pull the addresses from your address book? There should be the word "To" right next to where you put the address, that you can click on. That will bring up your address book contacts.

Go to the address book under your tools menu. From there you should be able to select "new" and add a list. Now you can name a list whatever you'd like to call them and edit it at any time.

As far as bcc, you can monkey around and try to get that field up on your window all of the time... or you can simply click "to" on your new email, and it'll pop up a window of your saved contacts and lists. Just highlight them and click the bcc button. Whala you're done!

In Outlook and Outlook Express, you can set up Groups with names (like Knitting Officers or Glassblowers) and copy email addresses into them. Don't know of Yahoo mail allows you to do that.

Yes, Yahoo calls them Categories and after you add Contacts to a Category you can use it to send to the group.

How do a send a group email showing the list of contacts in yahoo mail?

Create a category first, then select it as outlined below.

1. Click the "Contacts" tab at the top of your yahoo mail page to open your address book.

2. Put a check mark next to each name you want in a category/group.

3. Click the "Add to Category" tab above the address book.

4. In the new drop down menu, click on "New Category."

5. Type the title you want to give your category into the box that opens in the upper left, then click OK.

Do the above for each category/group you wish to set up.

The name of your category appears in the left navigation bar of your address book under Categories" but this one is for editing only.

When you wish to send email to a category, after you click on Compose or Forward to open the message window, click "TO" to open your address book which is set up for emailing.

At the the top of this mailing list, click on the little blue "categories" link across from 'Contacts"

to open your list of Categories. Check the box next to the category you wish to send to, go to the top and click on "Insert Checked Contacts."

Then go to the list of names, edit your family names to be entered into the category "family" then when you want to send the same email to all of them at once, just enter "family" in the CC or BCC slot. Actually, for security purposes it is best to sent the email "To" yourself and put the people listed in the category in the BCC slot. Then you have a record of your emails to that category that you can keep in a separate folder

You can either be patient or you might try turning your notification off (and save the change), then turning it back on. That MIGHT do it.

I cannot understand half of what you are saying, but try clearing your browser cache or deleting your history. If all else fails, don't do it.

They are not automatically added to Messenger. You will need to add them.

Import Contacts Into Messenger: You will need to have the contacts in your Yahoo Mail Address Book.

1. With Messenger open, click on "Contacts."

2. From the drop down menu, click on "Import Contacts."

3. When the "Import Contacts window opens, click "Next."

4. When the next window opens, check the names you want to import.

5. Click "Next" and follow the prompts.

NOTE: The selected contacts will receive an email from Yahoo inviting them to join you on Messenger. You will be added to each others Messenger list when they accept the invitation.

Just above the Subject line, click on where it says, "Insert Address" --this opens up your address book. Scroll to the person's name (to whom you want to contact. Scroll back to the top of the list and click on where it says, "Insert Address". That should bring you back to your blank email, with their name already filled in for you at the top. Reply:Don't think you can. That is the purpose of blocking someone so that they do not bother you.
Reply:There is something called www.checkmessenger.net. Personally I am somewhat leary of using it because I don't trust the fact I have to put my MSN password into a NON-MSN site. Makes sense right? But if you feel you must use it, then its up to you.

If you think they've blocked you, then trust your gut feeling.

If you know what their email address is, there is a way to see if they've got you added to their list, they might have you blocked, but they still have you on their list.

This is what you do. In MSN, go here:

See Who Has Added You To Their Contact List -%26gt; VIEW

This way, you can at least see if they have you on their list.

Regarding emails, if they are savvy enough, they can create a filter rule in their email program to automatically send anything sent by you to the DELETE folder.

Its also possible that your messages are getting classified as SPAM and end up in the Junk folder. Which would not be your fault or the receivers fault.

5) it gives you a list of programs you want to export to..'Yahoo! .CSV file' is the one you want

Not your 'email' contacts, but the people who show as 'fans' or 'contacts' in your 'Answers' profile can.

If your 'email' contacts aren't also going to be 'Answers' buddies, no problem. If they are, you can set your Q%26amp;As to 'private' and not allow 'fans' or 'contacts' (not even your friends), or you can start a new 'Answers' account and tell your buds your old one got hacked (new account is better in this situation).

I hope you kept your previous account active. There is an option to import your address book from one to the other. If so, go to your previous account.

If you use Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP or NT, you can transfer your address book from one Yahoo! account to another using the Import/Export feature.

First, export your address book as a Comma Separated Value (.CSV) file:

Click "Import/Export" in the upper-right corner of your Address Book. In the Export section, click the "Export Now" button next to the phrase "Yahoo! CSV:."

When prompted, specify a convenient location and name for your file in the "Save As" dialog box.

Your address book data is now saved as a standard .CSV file.

When I go to send a new email message in Outlook 2003, I get the following error when I try to pull up my contacts by clicking the "To..." button:

Can someone delete someone else's email contacts without having their email password?

There are applications available in internet which is used to break the passwords of the PST files. When we use that, it will "clean up" the password of your PST files. Then they can use outlook and add your pst files as one of their personal folders, and have access to all your emails, contacts, tasks etc.

There should be a bar on top of letter saying Insert Contacts from Address Book. Click it to get to your address book , check ones desired, then click on "Insert Contacts". They should all appear in "To" box.

This happens from my address book and only after they have been running for a while if I start them and do it right it away it works fine but if I have been browsing for a while and then go to mail it fails after i select contact and go to insert it.

Soemthing is screwing up your IE. Might be a virus or a piece of malware. Run a scanner and if it finds nothing then probably your IE program is corrupted and you may need to reinstall windows. Failing wanting to do that, download another browser such as Firefox or Opera and use that instead of Internet Explorer.

Reply:I have that problem too. Try inserting names by just putting in the first letter of the name and it should have a short cut device that fills it in automatically. You may have to go into options to turn this on.

Sorry, that option (auto fill) has been removed with the new Yahoo upgrade. Here's an easier way, In Yahoo Classic:

After you click on Compose or Forward to open the message window, click on "To" to open your address book which is set up only for emailing.

Check the boxes (TO, BC or BCC) next to the contacts you wish to send to, go to the top of the list and click "Insert Checked Contacts." The addresses you selected will be in the field you selected and the address book will close.

There are a couple of reasons why Address Auto-Complete may not work.

Note: Address Auto-Complete does not work for Safari, Opera, and non-JavaScript enabled browsers.

A few things to check:

Is the address that you're typing in your Address Book? If not, it won't Auto-Complete for you.

Do you have the latest Yahoo! toolbar? If not, Auto-Complete may not work.

Remember, even if you can't Auto-Complete addresses, you can still click on "To" from your Compose page to open your address book.

After you click on Compose or Forward to open the message window, click on TO and your address book will open on top of the page you are in. Check the boxes (To, Cc or Bcc) next to those you wish to Forward to, go to the top of the list and click on "Insert Checked Contacts." The address book will close and the names you selected will be in the fields you selected. Click Send after you type your message.

For the last few weeks I have not been notified of a single question asked by any of my contacts. This seems rather strange to me as I used to see at least one or two questions everytime I opened my mail. Most contacts invited me and a few I have invited myself. All continue to appear in my list. If some have removed me would'nt I be notified? I am not sure how the system works. I am aware that it could be none Are asking questions but that seems a bit unlikely (100 percent stopped asking completely?)

If you go to your profile page, there's a link called "My Network's Q%26amp;A" where you can see what questions your contacts have asked. Kind of a pain, if you ask me.

Make your group first:

-Go to your inbox

-Click the arrow on the address tab

-Drop down box, choose 'add a catagory'

-Name the catagory, then follow the instructions to add names.

-Make how ever many you need, then save.

When you are all done, click on the 'address' tab, this will take you to your entire book, there you click on which name you want, click edit, save %26amp; your done.

Yahoo will change all the edits to an address automaticaly in every catagory.

Reply:If you are referring to retrieving a persons contacts from either their box or a web based mail provider without their password ... basically no. Not easily anyway.

Only if you managed to get a program on their machine that'd retrieve the data for you ... or in the case of the web mail, you'd have to hack the web mail provider.

Most mail servers allow you to leave the TO line blank--IF--you enter all addresses (or group or category-list name) on the BCC line and it's delivered to undisclosed-recipients.

If, however, you use Yahoo----a valid address is required on TO------sooooooo----do this.

Put your own address on the TO line---BUT---enclose it within parenthesis---like this---

(yourname@wherever.com)

Everything else on BCC.

Mail is delivered to undisclosed-recipients. No name is shown----even yours that's in the parenthesis.

If at a later time, you need to remind yourself of who the BCC contacts for a particular mail are----(only available if you are the sender)---open that mail in the sent folder and scroll to the bottom and click "full headers" and there they will be.

Reply:Use the "BCC" function. In Yahoo mail, you must list one person as a recipient, so use yourself. Then just put everyone in the BCC line - no one will see anyone listed.
Reply:When you hit forward, you can delete all the names of previous senders by highlighting %26amp; delete. Also, you can copy and paste, but in some cases I have lost pics, etc. this way.

When you send a group email, put one address in the "to" and click on "add BCC". Put all other addresses there. Each person sees only their own address.

This will eventually happen if you set your spam filter. As it learns what you do not want in your in-box, it will diminish. Turn on your spam protection from "Options" and fill out the form.

Depending on your choice when filling out the form, the spam wil either go to your bulk folder or be deleted immediately.

Check the box next to mail you don't want, go to the top and click "Spam."

Try ctrl+shift+F to open advanced find, type the email address in the search box and do a search of it. If it return any outlook item like email, vcard etc, try to delete it to see if things improve.

1] in the To: field :-- you can add your own email addy or some x@y.com addy or hotmail wont send it through.

2] Click on the BCC: field.:-- a dialogue box will open [ a pop up window]. Select the adress you want and close the box.

3] the selected addys will be added to the BCC field. YOu can add one to zillion addy and no one will know.

4] Type your msg and send. and yes take care that you are not indicating that your are massmailing or something.. this often happends:)

any way if u have it or after downloading it, all u have to do is the following:

Click on the MSN plus icon, u will see it on the First screen that u get when u sign in , its above near the one that open E-mails.

so click on it and then chooce (Contact List Clean-Up)

then it will open for u a screen that have al ur contacts and with some detailes , one of the detailes name (Has U)

under this its written (Yes) or (No) , if Yes then this contact didnt remove u or even blocked u , if its written (No) then he or she either removed u from the list or Blocked u

Thats all, I know that not much people know about this Feature in MSN Plus, now its all for u bro

even if you changed email address, the contacts will still be there as long as you didn't delete the previous mail add. is it the primary mail add or the extra add? if that mail add is no longer available, then you won't be able to restore your contacts. you have had precautioned yourself before you changed it. how about your messenger account, do you still have their ID's? if yes, ask their mail add again.

It's pretty simple, you just insert all your friends mail addresses with into the "To" area. Don't forget to separate them with ";"

If you don't want the receiving end to see all the email addresses, use the "Bcc" area instead of the "To".

They will be hidden if you enter their names in the Bcc field, but you will need to have at least one name in the To field in order for the Email to be sent.

Yes, it's called BCC. Click on Show BCC. It's an option in the To: line (far right-hand side of that line) when you are setting up the Send To portion of the e-mail. when you use BCC., the person who is receiving the message sees their own e-mail address, not all of the others.

Are you sure you saved your email address to your contact list? I put my own address on my Hotmail contact list without a problem. Just go to your Contacts, then click New to create a new contact. Fill in your own personal email address and info and then click SAVE. Maybe you forgot to click "save"?

You are the one who personalizes/assigns e-mail addresses to contacts, and then the filter identifies your contact info when it arrives at your box.

Your primary and secondary addresses of one contact, for example, have to be prioritized. That's another example of something Yahoo! can't do for you.

Yahoo cannot do that, but you can individually. Each time you open an email from someone, look over to the right across from "From" and click on the "Add" button.

How do I Import Contacts from my other webmail account?

Here’s how:

Hi,

Go to your Yahoo Groups Page.

Go down the left hand side to "Invite"

Go all the way to the bottom of the page to "Add Members from an existing email list"

You can then enter her e-mail address there and not have to ask for permission. I think a notification e-mail is still sent to tell her that she has been added.
