Check your system for viruses, spyware and malware. One of them could have sent your contact list to a spammer or the spam itself was sent from your computer.
The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago, but it only sent spam to some of my contacts, including my cell phone. I received spam on my cell phone for months after that.
All my email contacts rec'd a spam email from my address. I didn't send it %26amp; not in SENT folder. Any help?
You have help available from your Internet service provider. Contact them and let them know your email account has been Joe Jobbed. (Someone uses your account to send spam). They will know what to do. Make sure you have some examples of the spam sent from your contacts. It may mean deleting your email address and getting a new one but your ISP will help you sort this mess out.
Reply:Sounds like you picked up a virus.
Immediately have your computer checked for a bug or 'bugs.'
Once it is clean of pests, install a firewall and an anti-virus program if you do not have one yet.
I strongly recommend a program for malware and adware also.
Changing your password may not be enough to secure your E-mail account again, but try it and see how it behaves.
You may have to open a new one with a different ID name and password.
Reply:I'm betting it's some sort of virus. Do a VERY through check. This is actually worth taking to a computer repair person to make sure that it's completely thorough.
Check around, since it's just them running a program, some places have a set fee for it. (that's a good deal)
Reply:Write an apology and send to ALL.
